Match the shaft before the signal.

A resolver provides analogue sine and cosine signals under AC excitation. The external resolver-to-digital converter and its settings are part of the system design.

APPLICATION FIT / HRE-RES

Motor OEMs · thermal environments · custom drives

Bring the machine constraints into selection before ordering a prototype.

  1. Excitation voltage and frequency, transformation ratio, phase shift, impedance and decoder load
  2. Electrical speed ratio versus mechanical angle and commutation needs
  3. Winding insulation, rotor retention, temperature and vibration qualification

Through-hollow cross-section concept

Through-hollow

A continuous bore lets the shaft pass through the encoder. Check clamp access and shaft clearance.

Blind hollow bore cross-section concept

Blind hollow bore

A closed bore fits the shaft end. Check insertion depth and avoid bottoming out the shaft.

Shaftless ring kit cross-section concept

Shaftless ring kit

A ring and readhead use the machine bearing. Check sensing gap, runout and calibration.

Original engineering concepts. Not to scale; final housing, ring and mounting dimensions require an approved drawing.

HRE-RES / ENGINEERING QUESTIONS

Resolve the fit before release.

What temperature range is available?

The initial engineering request envelope is −55 to +155°C. A 200°C requirement needs a separate winding, insulation and validation review. No blanket temperature qualification is implied.

Does a resolver remove every semiconductor from the feedback system?

The sensing rotor and stator can be passive wound components. External excitation and decoding electronics still need their own environmental qualification.
